To be eligible to attend the Nurturing Deaf Arts-Deaf Arts Manitoba Weekend workshops, you must self-identify as an artist or arts professional who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing (HH). This includes hard-of-hearing, oral-deaf, deaf-blind and late-deafened. Individuals may not have the same degree of participation in Deaf culture, and they may identify as having a disability rather than as being culturally Deaf.
This weekend event is for Deaf/HH artists who are looking to build and enhance their creative or professional skills in any artistic discipline (e.g. dance, inter-arts, media arts, music, signed music, mime, theatre, visual arts and writing and publishing).
Professional artists may include: actors, choreographers, composers, dancers, media artists (film, video, audio, new media), musicians, playwrights, spoken word artists, ASL storytellers, mime, theatre directors, visual artists (incl. photographers, fine craft artists) and writers, as well as artists who work across multiple disciplines and art forms.
We have three events that are available for you to sign up for as space is limited. There is a $5.00 registration fee payable at the door.
Please: If you can not attend any or all of the events, let us know so we can fill your space with another person on the wait list as space is limited for the workshops and the CHRM tour requires numbers for discounts.
When you register, we will send you an information package about the locations of the events, and the CHRM, and places to stay via email or mail if you don’t have email.
